Does anyone know why this is the case?  Surely it would drop right since the fees are outrageous and would move other people to buy other coins?

Somewhere where people could send, for example, 0.1 BTC in exchange for a music download? If not, is any one working on it?

It seems like a good fit.

Bitcoin-BTC / Bitcoin Cash Guilty of Trademark Infringement?
« on: August 30, 2018, 12:40:29 AM »
ust this morning, a co-worker of mine said he meant to buy some Bitcoin to purchase something online, and accidentally bought Bitcoin Cash from Coinbase instead.  This was no good for him as he couldn't actually buy the item he wanted with Bitcoin Cash.  We work in an online-focused business where most people are pretty tech-savvy.

It made me start thinking - isn't Bitcoin Cash guilty of trademark abuse here?  My co-workers little snafu is precisely the reason we have trademark protections in place - so that the consumer knows the source of the good, service, or product.  The BCH logo is awfully similar, they use the name, and as demonstrated by my colleague, it can be confusingly misleading for the common person.

Any thoughts?

General Discussion / Stop worrying

Crypto price is heavily driven by news and now large trading institutions that have the ability to manipulate price with high frequency buy/sell/cancel orders.  This is normal.

Seriously, crypto is not for you if:

1.   you are looking for short term gains and need to get your investment back in the short term
2.   you are checking the price every 5 minutes
3.   you cannot afford to lose your investment.

Many will panic sell.  This is also normal and will have minimal impact on the price compared to major investment sell-offs, which is unlikely, except to leverage an even better price. Others will be using this opportunity to buy.

There are only 2 legitimate threats to crypto:

1.   Widespread government/bank regulation or prohibition
2.   Big players and powers that be manipulating price like they have done with gold and silver for the last decade.

Bitcoin-BTC / Bitcoins weak points deliberate?
« on: August 29, 2018, 12:14:03 PM »

What if Bitcoins faults were deliberate?
As Bitcoin was the first one, it gaining popularity was logical. If Bitcoin was created and manipulated it by big whales , instances etc.. to let it gain in popularity?
So that once it has it's peak, letting it drop as they please,  people are beginning to doubt the usefullness of crypto in general, just by the fact that Bitcoin was created with weaknesses and flaws?
What if there was directly a crypto without those weaknesses, so that today we wouldn't have these high fees?

The energy used by Bitcoin machines last year was higher than the electricity consumed by nearly 160 countries. As a result, China has banned the exploitation of Bitcoin because of concerns over excessive energy consumption and the financial risks that digital money brings.

Bitcoin-BTC / Bali is a paradise for bitcoin trading
« on: August 29, 2018, 02:40:03 AM »
Even the bitcoin paradise is preparing to ban the transaction in this currency.

Recently, an Indonesian official said the Southeast Asian's largest economy was investigating the use of bitcoin at the Bali resort island.

Virtual money can also be used to money laundering and terrorist financing, affecting the stability of the financial system and causing damage to society.

Bali residents say bitcoin is mainly used by expats arriving on the island. Bali Island is a tourist paradise of Indonesia with 80% of foreign tourists and a large expat community.
